HATTON

My maternal grandmother was Ethel Rosalie HATTEN whom is a direct descendant of immigrant John HATTON who came to America into Virginia in 1613 on the ship, "TEASORER." Fortunately, he was back in England on business at the time of the Massacre of 1622 so his lineage survived including me. John HATTON is believed to be descended from Thomas HATTON, brother of Sir Christopher HATTON, Lord Chancellor of England, close confidant of Queen Elizabeth I. Most of those that immigrated from England into Virginia in the early to mid-1600's were supporters and relatives of Queen Elizabeth I and King James I, King Charles I, and King Charles II.
