I am new to this site having just spotted your William Conklin and Maria while doing a google search. My great grandmother was Sarah Jane Conklin b 09 May 1836 Simcoe/Townsend depending on which record you check. She married John Taylor Spilsbury and had their first child Dec 1859. Her death certificate lists father John Conklin and mother unknown. She died in California 1937 as Sarah Langfear (second husband). I have not been successful in finding a record for her possible parents. In a document dated August, 28, 1927 she did mention having a cousin Mrs. GB Barnes, PT. Edward, Ontario.
While cruising the 1861 Canadian census is did notice that William Conklin , wife Maria and family lived a few doors from another of my families, G S Burrell and wife Tryphena Spilsbury Reed. So here I am asking if if you might have some additional history on William Conklin that might include a brother or such named John or a child of William's that might have married a Barnes?
