Let me tell you a bit about myself
Some of you may know me as that IslandRoutes lady. I've been teaching Portuguese Hawaiian genealogy in one form or another for the past 12 years.
I've been researching my family tree since 1990. I started with a few handwritten letters exchanged between my grandmother and myself. From there I was hooked.
My lines are Azorean, French, Irish, Australian, and British. My Azorean lines stretch to before 1400 and hit royalty, so I am all over Europe and a little bit of the Middle East.
I was once a volunteer chat host for AOL's Golden Gate Genealogy Forum. I was also a volunteer moderator and part of the web design staff for Genealogy Chats Inc. (aka GenealogyForum.org)
I branched off on my own to create IslandRoutes.com, a place where Portuguese Hawaiian genealogists could learn about their heritage. It has recently morphed into YourIslandRoutes.com.
I run the blog, The Research Journal. Here I explore all branches of my tree. I try to share my knowledge of genealogy research as well as explore different aspects of family history.
Hope to find others researching the same areas as me--and maybe a cousin or two!
