Hello-
My great grandmother was from the Azores, I think Faial. She came to the US in around 1880. She was Maria (later Mary) Gloria Silveira. She married John Silva and they lived in Salinas, Ca. I wish I knew more.
Thanks Pat I found it, now I need to learn the rest. I don't do well with forum researching, since I am mostly the only one researching in the Island of Terceira.
That is were both my parents came from, so most of my researching is going to be from back there. I don't know of those that came before our families to America so it's kind of difficult for me to determine who belongs on my tree. LOL
Thanks for the invite, regarding the Azores group how do I find it? I will have to look around for it or could you send me a link or some type of information to locate it?
Well probably some place in the past they are related - my GGrandfather was married 3 times so I think there might have been more children than I know about. They were from Villa Franca de Camp. We'll have to stay in touch !
My Pimentel family was from Sao Miguel - went to Hawaii on the Hankow then got to CA about 6 years later don't know how or what ship etc. but settled in the Oakland area. There were 5 brothers and one sister. The only Antonio was the father. Any of your Pimentels end up in Oakland from Sao Miguel :-)
