I'm so glad you came by to tell me what's going on. I'm sure you got the vibes that I was worrying about you. Hope everything gets back to normal very, very soon. Take care!
My ROSE family continues to elude me even though DNA testing connects me to the Dutch ROOSA family that settled in Ulster County New York in 1660. I have yet to connect this family to my gg gf who died in the Civil War. Conflicting records have him born in NY and OH.
ps, it did seem odd to me that the marriage Caren found was done in Montana but recorded/indexed in Michigan...... nothing said either of parents were deceased or anything either.
sorry, didn't have all that info so was going by what I could find..I've looked at tons of Margaret Troy's but none married a Patrick or Caufield... at least none I've found online so far.

Ok, had to look at the image, usually slave owners are white, and these only list the slave owners names, and the sex, race, age of each slave. So still could very well be the same guy.
the 1860 regular census guy below, is a sugar planter, not sure if you knew who yours married or any of the kids, but info pretty much matched, the last child is unbaptized at the time of the census.
You have no clues about this guy that might help make sure this is him??
Both listings are in ward 9, Assumption parish, LA so pretty sure it's the same guy.
oops, guess i missed that part, will have to re-look at that other one too to see if he was as well, didn't think he was, but now I wonder..... sorry about that.
