Dear Mr. Rodney, I have been researching African-American McBryde/McBride-Scott in Talbot County, GA, for my friend and co-worker; and came across a Bunkley connection re: Ellen Scott and Jesse Bunkley, who settled in Alabama. I have enjoyed reading your GenealogyWise blog and, if you are still interested, would like to ask you about the McBrydes. Sincerely, ---kay
I would be interested in that information on the Bunkley family reunion. Thanks! I have some estate records, but need to order the rest from the Alabama archives.
My Bunkley Family was in Jones County Georgia prior to moving to Alabama. There do not seem to be many people researching the Bunkley family. Have you encountered many?
The Manning surname comes into my family pretty far back - I think it would be my fourth great-grandmother, Esther Manning (her father was Samuel Manning, if that is any help). I am not too familiar with the family and haven't started real research on it yet, so I'm not sure if they are related to the governors. Esther's son, Manning Poole, was a pretty rich guy (lived in Anderson County), so they may indeed been a prominent family. Sorry I don't have much more information than this. Have you tried the Manning boards on Genforum and Rootsweb? Sorry I can't be more helpful - good luck in your search.
