I would like to know more about your HOWELL name - is this your married name?
My maiden name is HOWELL - My HOWELLs were supposedly from NC - first known was my G-Grandfather, John Caswell HOWELL b ca 1820 NC(?)-d 1883 GA.
All the records I have found in GA start w/1850 Census, give the bp as NC - he becomes an ordained Baptist minister in 1854 & continued farming as well as ministering at area Baptist Chuches in South GA.
