Researching Frambers/ Frambes

Posted on July 16, 2009 at 12:56pm 1 Comment

Thought I would post this here in my blog in case anyone happens to see it that lives in Clermont Co., Ohio.

I'm in need of a will for 2 gentlemen: Peter Frambes and his son Andrew Frambes. There could be an "r" in the surname "Frambers."

Peter left a will and Guardianship in 1873 and Andrew & wife Emeline left an estate in 1889.

If anyone in Clermont Co., Ohio would be willing to look these wills up for me please contact me privately at:… Continue

My Mills Family

Posted on July 14, 2009 at 1:23pm 0 Comments

John Mills has eluded many of us that have descended from him for many years. In American, there are hundreds maybe even thousands of individuals that descend from the surname “Mills”. I have started this blog so anyone with the surname “MILLS” in their family tree, can try to distinguish if they are part of my Mills family, plus maybe this will be away of breaking down the brick wall that held strong until last summer. A chip was… Continue

I have mine all the way back to John Axstyl(Axtell) from Berkhampsted, Hereford, England born in 1561 and died in Hertfordshire, England but no date on his death. Stella Axtell was my great grandmother. Her father was Edward RIley Axtell who married Rachel Holloway. I can run it all the way back for you if you would like me to.

Hello cousin,
It's my hope to someday get my surname line as well documented as the Axtells.
Currently, I'm brick walled at the birth of my ggg grandfather in Pennsylvania in 1781. I recently did y DNA testing with Ancestry to see what popped up. No great leads so far. But I turned out to be in a fairly obscure haplogroup, E3b.
Cheers,
John

My line goes from the immigrant, Thomas who came about 1643, he had Henry, then my line goes Daniel, Thomas, then both Daniel and Thomas, then Nathan. Nathan married Elizabeth Clutter, then his son Thomas married Sarah Robb, also an Axtell descendent, then Elizabeth who married Embly Mount.

Hi Tammy,
I guess if you go back far enough, almost all of the U.S. Axtell descendants are from one son. One of my early ancestors is John Axtell, b: 23 APR 1818 in Peru, Berkshire, Massachusetts, USA. His son John Warren Axtell b: 29 DEC 1855 in Clayton, Winnebago, Wisc., was also an ancestor. Emeline Axtell was my maternal grandmother.
My data on John Sr.'s descendants is here:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=REG&db=johnmcx&id=I00026
I'm the living McCartney, well down the list.
I haven't done a whole lot with the Axtells as they are pretty well documented. But on occasion, I find an unknown, to me, Axtell obit, which I send in to the family historians.

What about your DRAPERs?

Tammy,
Thanks for inviting me to be your friend.
My maiden name is DRAPER. My DRAPERs are all from Georgia in the Pulaski and Ben Hill County areas. I have found my grandfather's death certificate. Says is father is Frank DRAPER. I have found a suspicion that Frank may be from the Cherokee County area in NE Alabama. I haven't spent as much time on my dad's side as my mom's side.
