Hello there!
Hi! I'm Caro and I am a Family Historian and Genealogist. I have been deeply involved in daily research for about two years now, looking up birth certificates and death notices, writing emails, making phone calls, sending letters. I am very fortunate to still have some living family members who remember a lot of the past and are willing to share some of it with me.
My current master file has 1582 people in it, containing approx 100 last names (maybe even more)! If are interested at all in what I have, please feel free to ask. If I have anything that may help you, I will be happy to share.
I am currently working on a Family History and Genealogy book for my daughter, filled with her ancestors and all of the descendants. It will include information about where they lived and what life was like at that point in time, along with family stories and pictures. When completed, it will be published in a hardbound book so she can show it off to everyone, and read it as often as she likes.

For those of you who keep up with my genealogical diggings and family history research:
Since this project was first started, back in October 2007, it has grown from a simple quest to do a simple pedigree, to an enormous, time consuming project. The tree goes back sixteen generations and includes nearly 1300 people. But there are still a lot of things I need to get and a lot of information I need to find. I ran across this post this morning in searching for a Frank Martin who was my great grandfather. I found some things on ancestry.com but didnt get very far there. This Frank was born in 1872-73 from what i have found in Lincoln county, Ky and was married to a Sally. My grandfather which was Franks son Edgar Woolford Martin died at an early age of 28 back in 1924 in Newport, Ky so my father who was 6 at time never knew much family history. It was said that they came from virginia originally and we were black Irish is what my grandmother always told my Dad. I saw the post mentioning a Frank so i was wondering if it has any connection to what i'm looking for. Thanks very much!
If you are still trying to get a "Family Tree Maker" program, I may a suggestion for you. Try the Library. I got my FTM from the Schaumburg Township Library in Illinois. Definately cheaper. Our library has a large section of videos, audio and computer games and programs. Just an idea.

Michael Nally was my maternal grandmother's uncle. I learned later the she stayed in touch thourgh letters with all her relatives in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia who had also come to America.
But I haven't had much luck locating descendents.
