Wanted to ask are you satisfied with your family tree dna results? I certainly am not.. I was told that mt and ptdna testing can go 1000s of years back whereas the ftdna autosomal testing only goes 5 generations and exact matches.. I didn't have exact matches
when I did the mtdna. They were 1 or 2 mutations difference but was still genetic matches.. I want to have all match results not just exact.. It feels like a waste of money the way they do this.. I am going
to upload my results into other databases and see what I get..
Yea I got mind back yesterday.. Sort of disappointed.. It only matched me with 1 person which doesn't make sense because I uploaded mydna in other databases and had several matches
that mentioned they had tested with ftdna.. Why wouldn't those matches show up in my ftdna
results? This was the most expensive testing I have done. I hope my money wasn't wasted..
I am curious though.. So why don't you manually input your mtdna results into dna.ancestry.com? It's free and we will see if you show up in my list of matches.. I have
11 matches so far.. I found 69 at genebase and 77 at mitosearch.org.. All these
cousins from all over the world and I don't know any of them, and this is only my mother's side.. lol

Hey Samuel,
How r u?
Wanted to ask are you satisfied with your family tree dna results? I certainly am not.. I was told that mt and ptdna testing can go 1000s of years back whereas the ftdna autosomal testing only goes 5 generations and exact matches.. I didn't have exact matches

Hi Samuel,
Haven't spoke with you in a while.. Did you do your testing with Family Tree DNA? I'm still waiting
on my results.. I uploaded my ancestry.com results in several other databases.. Genebase returned
a match with the name Antonio Chavez and Maria Gomez, original location of San Luis Potosi, Mexico..
Are you familiar with either of those names and/or location?
Hey Samuel,
First of all, why no pic..??? lol
Ok. I misunderstood what you meant by h1 and h2.. Halogroup D is the overall
halogroup that we fall into.. D1 is a subgroup of D.. I have googled for information
and found the link below which explains D1.. Hope it helps you understand a little better.
Wikipedia explains D1 subgroup of D..
Ok. I thought you were asking about D1 subgroup before. I assumed you had tested
to be under D halogroup. Well, when you get your results uploaded in other databases
you may find more matches like I did.. Good luck...
Elmira
Samuel,

That's very possible Samuel. I'm sure being in D halogroup and specifically D1 doesn't
mean everyone is genetically matched.. Making a comparison of dna results determines
genetic connection as you know.. I'm waiting for my results from ftdna now. Just had
it done. My mtdna was done with ancestrybydna..
My mother has always said she thought her grandmother was part Cherokee.. My dna
testing only proved she was native american.. Since being female I can only trace
maternal(mtDNA) results being ingenious american I have done a family tree dna to get results for the rest of me.. lol
