I've been looking for some info on one of my Revolutionary War ancestors. All I have is his name and whose troop he was in. I also have his son's name. HIs name is Benanul/Benamuel Deuel/Duel. He was a Lt. and Levie with Willet's New York Regiment.I think one of his sons also fought in the war. His name was Tristram/Trutram Deuel/Duel.Benamuel was married to a Rebecca Tripp. Can anyone help me find out more info on him. I have no idea where he's buried, his birth or death date. Also, is there anyone else who's ancestor was in the same regiment? Sure would like to hear from you.
BENANUEL7 DEUEL, SR. (TIMOTHY6 DEVOL, JEREMIAH5 DAVOL, JONATHAN4, WILLIAM3, THOMAS2 DEVOL, SR., RICHARD1)192 was born February 18, 1738/39 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, MA193. He married REBECCA TRIPP194 in Nine Partners, Dutchess County, NY195.
Notes for BENANUEL DEUEL, SR.:
In 1759, Benanuel Deuel moved with his parents to Dutchess County, NY. From 1805-1814, he lived in Marcellus, but in 1816, he and his wife were living in Camillus, NY. Because he was a Lieutenant in the Revolution, Benanuel was probably disowned by the Quaker Meeting to which both his and his wife's family belonged.

Thank you so much for all the info sent to me. I was at a standstill on where to look. I had found so little in my research. Boy, they sure had a lot of children! I can't wait to look at the sources you sent. And to think that I almost didn't post that I needed help. I guess a person can never tell.what will happen. Thank again.

Are the above links for the references to Tristram Deuel correct? I clicked on them , but the was nothing there. The screen said there were no matches.
Thank you.

Do you know anyone in the DAR. I'm not yet so I can't help but if you do know someone then they might be able to. They have the ability to use searches that we as non members can't. It's worth an ask if you know anyone to do a quick search. If not, then try asking the DAR librarian for a bit of help. sometimes they can and sometimes they can't.
