Can you get info. from this Library. I have a paper I got on an ancester that was from the AGBI source Info. Godfrey Memorial library. How do I find more on this ancester? Thankd Dianne
hey sweetie
First all who is the person your looking for allright. I havent forgotten about your DAR Information or helping you out allright. I have your information with me so that i can take to the DAR Library and work on it. Keeping fingers crossed that I can go this time around.
I KNOW you havn't forgot. LOL I gave what I have to DAR in Morgantown. I thought I would see if there was some one on my side of the family that was a Patriot, while I was waiting for the DAR decision. Well My grandmother was a Spencer. They have been around a long time. I found a Thomas Spencer in my genealogy born 1740 in Buckingham county, va. D. 1787 in Maryland his wife Elizabeth McCann born same place died in 1830 in Harrison County, now WV. Marion county was Harrison in 1830. So through my records these people are related. I found him in first US census" Historical reg. Of Virginians in the REV., soldiers, sailors, and marines 1775-1783. " ED. by John Gwathmey Source Godfrey Memorial Library and AGBI data base on-line, Provo, UT. But I don't know how to get in to those. It sounds to me like he was in the Revolution. Found 2 on FootNote one was a LT. 4th Va.Regiment, and one was Private in the 5th Va. Regiment. Not sure if either was him. thought I might get more inf from Godfrey. Dianne
I ddnt see your thomas listed but that doesnt mean he ddnt fight etc. Do you have any of his childern?
What do you have for Elizabeth McCann parents. Do you have Thomas Spencer kids?
