Gene asked me to add a little more information so I am editing this, adding a little more info and attaching the census images.

I thought I would post another of my brickwalls. Mainie Main was born 19 Jan 1864 in probably Morrow co, Ohio. On 20 Apr 1884 she married Ellis Rhoades Powers in either Morrow or Delaware counties, OH. Lewis and Mainie had 5 children; Charlie Main, Orlando Ray, Roxie J, Don Lee and Anna Imogene. Lewis died 18 Oct 1901, without leaving a will. I have a petition to sell real estate filed by Maimie M Powers in Delaware county, Ohio filed Dec 1902. On 8 Jan 1905 Mainie married Charles Lutelles Browning. Mainie died 7 Oct 1932 and is buried in Morrow co, OH. All of that seems quite clear cut. My problem comes with wanting to find her real name. On the 1870 census her name is Mary. On 1880 she is listed as Manie. On 1900, 1910, and 1930 census she is Mamie, and in 1920 we are back to Manie. Finally on her death record she is Mainie and in her obituary she is Maria. Ok, it isn't a really big deal. She was probably named Mary or Maria with Mainie and Maimie as nicknames there was also a Minnie thrown in for good measure, but it doesn't stop here. I had searched for quite a while for her parents names. Finally when I received her death certificate I learned that they were Charles Main and Jennie Long. I now had the names and should be able to trace them in the census. That was when I realized her mother was playing the name game also. On the census records she is listed as Jenny, Jane and Mathena. All with the same place of birth, approximate age and parents birthplace, so I am pretty sure that it is one and the same person. She was born approx. 1846 in OH. There were 2 possible candidates for parents for Jennie, although neither is a perfect fit. After doing a census survey, here is what I came up with.
I believe that the parents of Jennie Long are either Lewis and Mary Long or Jacob and Mary Long. In both 1870 and 1880 Lewis lived next door to Charles and Jenny Main and Jacob lived a few houses away.

I think I have worked on this problem for way too long because it is now totally confusing to me. Any suggestions?
I have attached the census records that I was speaking of but since I can't add all of them in this post I will start a new post with the rest of the census records

Hopefully that worked.
Hi Gene it has been "unavailable " on family search for a long time now. I even emailed them and while they said they would check into it, nothing has happened. I had an original death certificate which unfortunately I lost in a flood. I have the obituary and will post it here. The information it provides is not very helpful at all.

Gene, her parents were listed as both born in Ohio, but no county or town was mentioned.
Hi Gene. I am in the process of correcting my Ancestry tree, so not all of the information is correct at this time, however I did make a huge error on here. Mainie's first husband WAS Ellis Rhoades Powers. I can't believe I didn't catch that mistake on here while I was typing up my first post and also when I edited it. Since I have been in the process of getting organized, but haven't quite yet reached that stage, alot of my info is in varying places, some on my computer database, some in my notebooks and some on Ancestry. I am trying to get all of the correct information in one place, or all 3 actually.
I do not know where Mainie married either of her husbands, although it was either Morrow or Delaware county I am sure. I have had problems getting records from Morrow county (I won;t go into that here) but am hoping to be able to make a trip there in the near future. The closest FHC is over an hour away and only open 1 day a week for 4 hours, and not at a time that I can get there. I have 200 years of ancestors in that area and it has been quite frustrating not being able to get the documents that I need. The dates I have for the marriages were given to me by a cousin, so I have not been able to confirm the actual dates yet.

As for the Ashley, Morrow county and Ashley, Delaware county, they are one and the same. The county lines changed . Somewhere in all my notes I have the date, but can't put my hands on it. It is a good thing I am trying to get everything organized as I can't find anything right now! My Powers line never moved from where they lived, but went from Delaware to Morrow county.

I truely believe that the M middle initial is for her maiden name. I have not found it used before her marriage.
