Healy's from county Cork Ireland and the USA emmigrated 1912

For who is interested I am working on the Healy familytree from county Cork Ireland. My own family lived in Mallow county Cork from about 1800 onwards.
Looking for 5 brothers who moved to the USA between 1912 and 1924.

Timothy Patrick Healy born 3 February 1890, married Margaret Burke and later Ellenor Twomey (Astheger)

William Healy born 5 November 1899, married a girl called Winifred in 1925 Westchester NY
They had a son William and a daughter Marion born 1928 and 1929 White Plains Westchester

Thomas Healy born 16 August 1897 - unknown what became of him

Cornelius Healy born 12 March 1904- unknown what became of him

Robert Healy born 1889- unknown what became of him

I am willing to do look-ups for others

Good Afternoon, I came across your posting after a google search - I don't know if I can be of help but from my understanding my family came from County Cork - I am Daniel Anthony Healy the 4th - I can trace back to my great grandfather and we are based out of the Philadelphia area with my father and grandfather being Philadelphia police Officers.... I'd like to find out more about my Family's heritage and would be interested to see if it matches up with the names you have posted above....

Hi Daniel, the name Daniel is not unusual in our Healy family altough they were called Donal here most of the time.

Hi Annemarie. I believe you are referring to my grandparents William in Westchester co NY. Also, my father was William and his sister died as an infant. hi annemarie. the healys you speak of are my mothers family.tim healy was my mothers father my grandfather. her name was nora healy who died in 2008.

Hi Annemarie,

My Name is Philip Amey and I am taking a group of people to France and Belgium in April to look at the First World War battlefields.

I have been asked to research Cornelius Anthony Thomas Healy who was killed in battle on 1st November 1916. He is Listed at Thiepval Memorial pier & face 7c +7b and his service number is 11838. I do know that his Division, the 39th Hampshire, was sent into take the Pope's Nose on the Ancre Heights on October 30th 1916. This is but a short distance from the Thiepval Memorial so I intend to take my guests to visit this site on our tour.

Whilst he can't be the Cornelius that you are looking for (it would make him 12 at his death) it could be a link to family, especially with Thomas in his name as well.

If you think that you could help me I really would appreciate it.

Hi Philip, I have been looking ever since, noticed another US family with also the same first names running in the family in Chigago, So I dont think there is a direct connection there. I will keep looking and get back to you asap

I just joined your group. My Healy's were from Killavullen, which is all of 5 miles from Mallow. Joanna Healy/Haly married David O'Connor in the parish of Annakissy in 1814 and they had 7 kids. Most of the kids left Cork around the mid 1840's and came to Massachusetts and Connecticut

Hello, I'm researching my family's history and I am looking for anyone that might know anything about my descendents; the Healys of Killavullen/Cloyne Parish. I noticed your reply above. My great, great grandfather was a Cornelius Healy, a family coachman who married Ellen Ellard the daughter of the family he was working for. The Ellards we don't think lived in the parish, they could have come from Churchtown, they were known for breeding race horses and had strong links with Boston USA. Ellen was subsequently disowned by her father, who we think was called George. Cornelius and Ellen went on to have we think 4 children; Patrick (1863), Mary Ann (1865), Ellie (1871 my great grandmother) and the mysterious aunt Mags. By 1892 Cornelius had passed away and Mary Ann and Ellie had left for London, England, we don't know what happened to their mother Ellen. Patrick however seemed to stay in the Killavullen area, we think he married an Ellen Connell in 1883 and they went on to have a son John in 1886. Other names that pop up as witnesses/sponsors are Elizabeth Healy (Cornelius' sister/Mother?) Daniel Murphy, Mary Roche, Michael Burke or Bourke, and Michael and Hannah Neile. Other than Mary Ann's baptism at St Mary's Buttevant, I'm not even sure which church these marriages and baptisms took place, although my great grandmother was a Catholic. If you or anyone could add anything to our family's story it would be wonderful to hear from you. Many thanks for your time. Regards - John Coulter
