Hi I am descended from a Mary Carter, born 1729, she married John Chandler who was born August 15, 1730 in Rumford, New Hampshire. They were married in 1751. She died June 9, 1793 in Concord, New Hampshire. He died in Concord, New Hampshire, March 1, 1807. I am looking for Mary Carter's direct ancestors. Scott

Scott,
Do you have any information on Mary's parents? I have information on the Chandler side of the family but nothing of Mary or of Mary's descendants. I will post anything I find on this discussion board. I don't know the protocol for sharing personal email addresses as I am new to this site.
Pam
Dear Pam: I have nothing on the Carter family. I have the Book of Chandler- William and Annis Chandler, as one of my grandmothers was a Chandler. I am new at this site as well. But maybe there is a connection to President Carter.

Just checked my tree again and found that this Mary Carter may be the same as the child of Samuel Carter and Jemima Houghton. This line is sourced through New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 17 pages 51-52. I don't have a source that confirms this is the same Mary Carter who married John Chandler. If it is, the Carter's trace back to Rev. Thomas Carter of Woburn who is an immigrant ancestor of mine. If you would like more details on this line, let me know.

Dear Pam: yes by all means check it out. I can not afford NEHGS now. The more lines the merrier. Thanks loads. Scott Mckay
