I have a good genealogy buddy who lives in Chattanooga who resaerchers Elbert County GA. She has researched free people of color as well as enslaved ancestors and I will tell her about your group!!
Cousin Farrel, I've turned up new FAVER information - have you been to Our Georgia Roots lately? I didn't realize we were related to BOLTONS but I did see a few in your Family Tree.
Researching Morrison family of Elbert County.
Albert Morrison b. Sept. 1872 Elbert County m. Sallie Williams b. Sept. 1874 Elbert County. Sallie was the daughter of Flem Williams and Georgiana Hall and Albert was the sun of Bartlett and Savanna Morrison of Elbert County.
I descend from Albert and Sallie's daughter Minnie, b. Sept. 1889 Elbert County and William HAWKINS b. 1880-1881 Wilkes County, son of Sanders HAWKINS and Anna Eliza BURNS.
Am interested in locating information on Jasper J. MORRISON, listed as the only slave owner of this surname in Elbert County in 1860. I can't pull estate file records because he didn't die until 23 Jan. 1897. He was the son of Washington MORRISON and Polly GRAY b. 1817.
