Hi Geraldine!
so sorry for not replying to your comment until now - have been going through tough times with a very ill Dad. I did have a lady from wales who went across to Dublin in search of Egan's on May 2nd. We are looking at bootmaker James Egan and she found a James and Thomas Egan who were bootmakers. Plus we are looking for James Egan (son of the above bootmaker - my gr gr grandfather) and some of the records offices were closed, so the lady is traveling back to Dublin again In July for BDM and convict records.
I hope she has some success - thanks for the reply. I will mention the Jackson family to her as well.
kind regards Lesley Ann Edwards
Thank you Geraldine for your kind words.
Yes, I'm proud of my Great-Great Grandfather (and his hat!). He survived American Slavery and found a receptive and respectful community in Towanda, PA to live out his remaining years.
Hi ..
I was not aware of this book by Christina Noble -- thanks for the info - I will look into it!

If you 'search' for THE SILVER BOWL-SHARON ODDIE BROWN
It has very interesting Jackson's Wills & Deeds from Mountmellick.
