Ah, Davies, long e...that's how my friend pronounced hers. She came from England and said that is how it was pronounced there.

Ha! Oh, okay. I don't have time right now to post anything yet, and I really haven't familiarized myself with the set-up of the site, so I don't have much info for you yet. Both sides of my family and both sides of my husband's family are pretty much all from the north Georgia area for generations (sometimes that can be boring when you're doing genealogy...Ha!) so I sorta doubt that I'll have any info for you. Yes, I had a dear friend whose maiden name was Davies and she said it was pronounced "Davey-ess" and also "Davis". I believe one of my Davis lines was actually Davies long ago.
