Ha! Oh, okay. I don't have time right now to post anything yet, and I really haven't familiarized myself with the set-up of the site, so I don't have much info for you yet. Both sides of my family and both sides of my husband's family are pretty much all from the north Georgia area for generations (sometimes that can be boring when you're doing genealogy...Ha!) so I sorta doubt that I'll have any info for you. Stay tuned...
Yes, I had a dear friend whose maiden name was Davies and she said it was pronounced "Davey-ess" and also "Davis". I believe one of my Davis lines was actually Davies long ago.
Where are your Ledfords from? I descend from the Ledfords of Mitchell and Yancey counties, North Carolina, through my great-great-grandmother Margaret Ledford McNeill, daughter of Noah Ledford and Clarissa Grindstaff.
Hi, Gene...I've taken a quick look at your site. Nice. I'm wondering why you are requesting to be friends with me. It doesn't look like we have surnames in common. Thanks. June

Noticed you are researching the Parkes surname. I've created a group for Parke/Parks/Parkes/Park. I'd love it if you joined!
