New York Lot Tax?
Anyone know about a NY Lot tax for Cemeteries from, 1963-1983 and again from 1984-1988?
We requested information from a cemetery in NY, after we discovered that my FIL's family was buried there, and for a reasonable fee received the information, but we also received a bill for back taxes, on the Plot purchased by my FIL's great grandfather in 1885.
Has anyone had this issue before?

The City has the rauthority to levy taxes on any lands within its borders, unless those are specifically prohibited by law. . Try Googling {NY cemetery Lot taxes} at Section 1509 F
