Thanks everyone. I am now almost an expert on making lists. :-) Works great!

Hey Ron,
That is pretty cool. I still have a lot to discover about Legacy. I will find that suggestion very useful. I did have to figure out how to add general notes after your instructions. I went to "List Report Options," and then clicked on the "*Row 2" tab. Then I clicked on "Select Fields for Row 2" and chose "General Notes" from the drop down box. There's plenty of other fields you can choose from as well. I really like this neat report. I'm attaching a screen shot I made so Lewis can see visually what I did to add the general notes field. He may have notes in his research or medical notes fields too. I guess you could then go to a Row 3 and add something in there as well. It's pretty neat! Thanks, Ron.

Thank you Ron. I'll give it ago tomorrow, bed time now. ]

Use Search>Find>Detailed Search then Select: Individual, Surname, Equals, xxxxxx.
Click Create and on the new screen Print. Then choose the data you wish to send.

Anyone with an idea as how to make a list and export it of all the entries with
the same surname including at least birth and death dates, notes would be nice.
The object is to give another searching the same surname all the ones in my
file to look over for matching and exchanging data.
Thanks, Lew Hartswick
Sorry Rick,
My bad. I apologize. I see that now.
Sarah
I can see that you did not read my comment carefully I only got the notes for the current wife and I cycled through the 3 wives and only got the notes for the wife shown during my test. I never said I got notes for all the wives on the same group sheet.
Rick
Hi again,
I finally got a chance to try this Family Group Report again and this individual had three wives with notes for him and his spouses. Like you, Brian, I do not get notes on the other two wives; just the one. I have to change to his next wife and so forth to get the notes to appear. For some reason I am not having that issue either anymore that I first complained about here. It just says "General Notes of Husb-" and then "General Notes of Wife-" in the header which is fine. But I would like to be able to have notes for all three wives in one report but it looks like that is not possible in the Family Group Report.
I wonder how Rick was able to get notes on other spouses in his test. Also, I still do not understand why I was getting the wife's name in the header in that first sample I sent.. Was that the Family Group Report you did, Rick?
Sarah
Hi Brian,
That's my fault as I just didn't change the name before running the report as I was just doing a test. There's not an issue with that. What else are you suggesting that is non-standard? I wonder why you couldn't get the second wife's notes to appear. I think I should check out some other individuals that have more than one wife and both have notes and see what I come up with. It might not be tonight though but I'll get back to you with those results.. Thanks,
Sarah
Hi Rick,
Thanks for your input. This is really strange. After I exited Legacy and signed back on to the program I tried three different settings as you suggested with the same results. Now on General Notes it just says "Wife -" with no name at all and the note beneath. I guess that's fine. Funny how I had to sign out of Legacy to have that happen. In this case I have no notes for his other wife. I should check some of my other individuals that have more than one wife and notes along with those. Appreciate your help! Thanks again,
Sarah.
