I have done pretty extensive research in the past 6 months and found out quite a bit in regards to my maternal grandfather's family. Neal Hobbs is my great-great grandfather. He had a VERY interesting relationship with his wife, Ellen's, sisters. He had MANY children by more than one of his Ellen's sisters, my great-grandmother being one of the sisters, Delia. So needless to say its been an interesting background to trace. Incidentally because of his infamy, he is the one that the family has… Continue

Would anyone know where "Beryer, Wales" is? This is the birthplace given by my great great Robert Lloyd on the 1851 census. He was a servant for the Weldon family in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. As I have been unable to find it in any gazeteer I feel that the spelling was corrupted by accent and/or illiteracy on behalf of Robert. He was born about 1793 and married Elizabeth Phipps in 1814 in England. Any ideas as to what area or townland he was born in would be most
appreciated.
