Hi I am researching the Chambers portion of my family, namely Catherine Chambers born 1874ish Edinburgh Scotland. Her parents on her Australian marriage certificate are listed as John Chambers and Elaine (possibly) Tait. I have hit a brick wall help!

Hi, I need some help with a brick wall. I can follow my family back to a John Smith 1721-1784, he is in a grave in the Kirkconnel cemetery at Springkell, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumfries, Scotland with his wife son and grandson and probably held the farm at Branteth which was part of the Springkell Estate. In the grave next to his is a grave with a Patrick Smith1677-1734, his wife and son and grandson. Looking at the dates for the birth of his son and his daughters (who are in a grave next door) my John Smith would fit neatly into the family however there does not appear to be any information of the birth of Patrick's children they are not in the births for Kirkpatrick Fleming and I cannot find anything on Scotlandspeople or Ancestry.com, I have some information which indicates that Patricks father was a John Smith and he had land at Waterbeck in the next parish (Middlebie), Does any one have any sugestions of how to find out about the family.

William EAGLE went to Edinburgh with Norfolk Dragoons and married Anne Brand ( or Brann) there in 1799 and a dynasty started.

Also John LANKSHEAR back in London married in 1808 a Margaret PEARSON who in later census said she was from Scotland born around 1782. Looking at IGI and too many choices.

My Barnetts left Scotland in the 1600s and went to N. Ireland. The Kenney side were most likely there in the same time period.
William Barnett born 1609 in Scotland, is believed to be the earliest known ancestor from Scotland.
The name Vance is also allied with the Barnetts as well as Montgomery and Long.

I am researching James RUTHERFORD, born January 1829 in Perthshire, Scotland. James RUTHERFORD immigrated to Ontario, Canada before 1855. He married Margaret LEE in Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada in October 1855. I believe his parents were James RUTHERFORD and Lilias MORRICE/MORRIS (daughter of Henry), as listed in the Scottish Parish Registers (OPR), but cannot prove the connection yet. Would love to hear from descendants of these people.

I am interested in the Martin, Shaw and Waddle families of Bathgate, West Lothian. Also the Stewart Family which originated in Easter Dalguise, Little Dunkeld Parish in Perth and ended up in Bathgate,

The Stewart and Cameron families were from Little Dunkeld parish, Perth.
